MOSQUITOFEST CELEBRATES 32 YEARS MAY 18-20
IN DOWNTOWN McCRORY

McCrory Area Chamber President Betty Kate Thompson announced this week that the 32" annual Mosquito Fest will be held May 18-20 in downtown McCrory. Members of the Chamber of Commerce and Festival Chairman Don Jones have already lined up some of the musical entertainment for the festival. The carnival and Main Stage will be centrally located on East Main St.

  • Johnson Brothers Carnival rides will open at 5:00 on Thursday evening, May 18
  • Thursday, May 18, Gospel Show beginning at 6:30.
  • BBQ from our Augusta friend Buddy Porter will be back this year beginning on Thursday evening and continuing throughout the festival.
  • McCrory Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Fish Fry on Friday evening 5:00-7:00 at the Civic Center.
  • There will be live music Friday night from 7:30-11:00 on the Main Stage featuring The J.R. Rogers Band and that McCrory native Mallory Everett will be a Main Stage performer during the festival.
  • There will be a Vendor's Fair on Saturday from 9:00-3:00 in the Civic Center. Vendors featuring arts, crafts, baked goods and much more will be on hand. For more information on the Vendor's Fair, contact Amanda Creasey Gaines.
  • The Mosquito Fest Youth Street Dance will be held Saturday afternoon at Raney Park. Local musician Ray-Ray Green will be the disc jockey for this event.
  • Karaoke with Bobby Trotter will be Saturday afternoon on the Main Stage. Plans are Carnival rides will also be open on Saturday afternoon.
  • The Sol Def Band will play for the Saturday night street dance from 8:00-11:00.
  • A -fireworks display will round out the festival.
  • Local street musicians, guitarist, -fiddlers, and harmonica players are invited to set up on street corners during the day on Friday and Saturday and play for tip money.
