Mayor Doyle W. Fowler

About the Mayor

I love my hometown of McCrory. I was born here in 1944 and started school here in 1950, graduating from McCrory High School in 1962. I married a local girl, Betty Ann Rooks after graduation and we had two children, a son David and daughter, Rebecca. Due to a lack of jobs here we moved to Indiana in 1966, where I worked for International Harvester until my retirement in 1997. I moved back to McCrory in 2000 with my second wife Margaret Ann. After her also passing away, I am now married to Earline to whom I dearly love and we absolutely love our life together, with me being home in McCrory.

I consider it an honor and it is my distinct pleasure to serve as Mayor of the City of McCrory. With now being into my third term, I can look back with pleasure on the many accomplishments we have made. We have worked diligently on improvements to our quality of life issues by improvements to our water and sewer, our streets, our city properties and trying to keep the town clean. We support our police department and fire department with providing them with the most modern and up to date equipment to better do their jobs. Economic Development and jobs is our main concern and we are working in partnership with our school and Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Economic Development Commission to pursue this daunting task of creating new jobs and retaining the ones we have. As we move forward we will focus our attention on improvements to our downtown with the hopes of making it a destination for people to come shop, eat and socialize.
